Pellegrini Orthodontics would like to officially welcome Shannon Franklin to our team. Shannon is our new scheduling coordinator and front office guru. Shannon brings an infectious zest for life to our practice and we are thrilled to have her as part of the Pellegrini Orthodontics' family. 

The Importance of Mouthguards-NFL great Emmitt Smith speaks out!

NFL Great Emmitt Smith Helps AAO (American Association of Orthodontists) Launch Sport Safety Campaign

The AAO "Sport Safety/Play It Safe" campaign is making a big impact this year as spokesperson Emmitt Smith, formerly of the Dallas Cowboys and the Arizona Cardinals, spoke at a Miami school and was featured in more than 20 local and national media interviews. Smith is helping the AAO spread the message that sports gear such as mouth guards can make a big difference in reducing or preventing sports injuries.

The NFL's all-time leading rusher, Smith is a three-time Super Bowl champion and the only player in the NFL to win the Super Bowl and the Super Bowl MVP and NFL MVP awards in the same year (1993). He also was a 2006 winning contestant on the ABC show, "Dancing with the Stars."

In addition to making appearances on behalf of the AAO, Smith is also the star of the new, Sport Safety/Play It Safe Web site designed to educate parents about the importance of sport safety and facial protection. Kids, parents and coaches are encouraged to visit the site to get additional information about facial protection, mouth guards and sports.

At Pellegrini Orthodontics, we recognize the importance of facial protection, and all patients that receive orthodontic treatment are also fitted with free mouthguards.
