Dr. Pellegrini's Recent Publication

We like to stay informed of the latest in orthodontic and dental research…we also like to keep you informed!  Dr. Pellegrini has an extensive research background and has contributed greatly to dental research. His latest project  ‘Plaque retention by self-ligating vs elastomeric orthodontic brackets: quantitative comparison of oral bacteria and detection with adenosine triphosphate-driven bioluminescence’ was recently published in the prestigious American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.                   

In this investigation, Dr. Pellegrini and colleagues found the majority of patients with self-ligating orthodontic brackets retain fewer bacteria in plaque than patients with elastomeric orthodontic brackets. They also found that a biochemical technique measuring ATP- (adenosine triphosphate-) driven bioluminescence could be a useful chair-side tool in the rapid quantification of oral bacteria and in the assessment of oral hygiene during orthodontic treatment. Let The Demo Begin

Kelly Newbold and Dr. PellegriniThe buildout of the new Pellegrini Orthodontics office is officially underway. Last week, Pellegrini Orthodontics selected Nu-Bold Construction Inc. as our general contractor and they wasted no time in beginning demolition and starting the construction on our new space.  The demolition crew provided a blank canvas and within a week, all the framing is in place and the we can begin to see our new office layout take shape.

More About A General Contractor
Nu-Bold Construction Inc. is a full service medical and dental general contractor. Nu-Bold Construction is owned by Kelly Newbold. The role of the general contractor is to spearhead the construction, renovation and/or demolition of a project. A general contractor usually is responsible for the supplying of all material, labor, equipment, (engineering vehicles and tools) and services necessary for the construction of the project. To do this it is common for the general contractor to subcontract part of the work to other persons and companies that specialize in these types of work. Since Pellegrini Orthodontics is on a very tight timeline for opening, it is imperative that all scheduling be mapped out and subcontractor work be organized and timed out perfectly. We are relying on the experience and knowledge of Nu-Bold Construction to bring our design visions to life and keep our build-out on track and on time.

Technically Speaking…or “Technologically Speaking”

Today we are exploring the technological and wiring aspects of the office by reviewing different proposals from Low Volt specialists. We are planning on using the latest digital technology in this office, so this important aspect needs to be a specifically integrated part of the design and construction plans. As such, we are deciding on some of the features that our office will have; Some ideas include: Nintendo Wii gaming systems in the gaming room, complimentary internet café (that parents and those in the waiting area are able to enjoy while a child or sibling is being seen by Dr. Pellegrini), digital radiographs and digital imaging systems, and virtual treatment records, digital models. Lots of decisions…lots of wires…and eventually, when all is said and done...Lots of fun! Stay ‘tuned’ for more!

The Plans Are In Place

This week Pellegrini Orthodontics received the final drawings for our new office in Everett. Pellegrini Orthodontics has had the pleasure of working with Office Wraps, located in Kirkland, for our interior office layout and design. Office Wraps specializes in Dental/Medical design as well as commercial and professional service corporations. Their expertise, efficiency and general knowledge of how to create a dynamic, productive and appealing space is extraordinary, and we would highly recommend their services to anyone looking to remodel or design a space from ground up. 

Lori Saleba, president of Office Wraps, along with her team of skilled designers has made the design phase an enjoyable experience. Their knowledge and understanding of the industry and how design impacts the overall comfort and appeal of a practice is unmatched, and we are truly fortunate to have benefited from their services.

From the onset of our design plans, we have worked closely with designer, Yuko Matsuura. Yuko has been responsible for all CAD drawings of our space. She has been an incredible asset to Pellegrini Orthodontics and her skill and innovative designs are unparalleled. She has made the design and layout process a breeze and we thank her for her incredible diligence and ability in executing our vision. 

We are more excited than ever about the next phase of our remodel. Next step, hiring a contractor. Stay tuned!
